The Doe’s Life Became Dear to a Hunter

Share

I have been hunting since I was 14.

Lancaster said that they (he and another hunter) walked for 10 miles. What hunter walks farther than he can drag a deer?

He said they spotted a “covey” of deer. Deer do not come in coveys; that is a term reserved for birds. It is a deer herd.

I am supposed to believe that this hunter shot at a very tiny deer more than 1,200 feet away. That would be quite a shot with any expectation of accuracy.

What kind of hunter shoots at something not knowing where his shot will hit? Hunters like this give hunting a bad name and it’s just as well Lancaster is not prowling around out there anymore.
