Monorail or Subway

Share

It is most disturbing to the vast majority of taxpayers in the Valley, over 80% of whom voted overwhelmingly for the monorail system, to observe a few elected politicians such as state Assemblymen Richard Katz and Terry Friedman and Los Angeles council members Joy Picus and Nate Holden succumb to a vocal minority of NIMBYs and band together in a group called the Valley-Wide Transportation Council in an effort to derail the voters’ preference.

Can there be any intelligent opposition to the preference of over 80% of the Valley taxpayers who voted for a rapid transit system that costs far less to build, less to operate and maintain, that generates far more revenue which should result in lower fares and carry more passengers daily?

It is time to end this nonsensical dispute and demand that our elected officials not give in to vocal minorities and instead represent the will of the people.
