Monorail or Subway

Share

“The monorail costs less than the subway!”

Cost! Cost! Cost! That’s all I ever hear from the monorail supporters--the only thing.

I feel much sadness, frustration, and, most tragically, helplessness--because although the subway is the most logical and responsible choice that has the least amount of negative effects on people, our impassioned voices are not heard nor listened to.

The scary part is, I feel this is not just an issue of choosing the best possible rapid transit system for the San Fernando Valley, but it is also an issue of high-pressure politics taking precedent over the objections and real concerns of many thousands of people.

Why won’t they listen?

Without getting emotional, the undeniable facts speak for themselves on why, by comparison, the subway is the more responsible choice over the monorail. There are several very significant adverse impacts that the monorailwould produce, and have many devastating and seriously negative effects and consequences, and this is where our concerns must be heard.
