BURBANK : Officials to Meet on Development Goals

Share

The Burbank City Council and the city Planning Board will hold a special joint meeting tonight to discuss strategies for increasing residential and commercial development in the recession-battered city and meet new state requirements for constructing more low-income housing.

City officials fear that redevelopment money, which has funded construction of low-income housing for senior citizens and a new commercial project, will be cut by as much as 25% by the state.

City Manager Robert Ovrom has said the city needs to take these factors into account in planning for the future.

No ordinances will be passed or votes taken at the special meeting, which is simply a study session, Ovrom said.
