The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between Jan. 18 and 24:
Glendale
Glenwood Road, 600 block--A man reported Jan. 21 that during the past two months, postage stamps, a gold charm, a buck knife and two pistols of unknown value had been stolen from his apartment by someone with a key.
Brand Boulevard, 100 block--A diamond wallet containing loose diamonds valued at $30,000 and another wallet containing loose stones valued at $12,000 were stolen from a jewelry store’s safe between Jan. 12 and 14.
Magnolia Avenue, 400 block--While a man was in his bedroom at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 18, burglars broke out a window in his back door and stole two guns of unknown value and a bike and VCR, valued at $190.
Brand Boulevard, 600 block--A building was evacuated at 11:54 p.m. Jan. 18 after a bomb threat was received and a suspicious-looking briefcase was found on the premises. The bomb squad disabled it with a controlled detonation, but it contained no bomb.
Oak Street, 400 block--A spool of conductor wire, valued at $4,000, was stolen from a fenced construction yard on Jan. 19 or 20.
West Glenoaks Boulevard, 1300 block--A clerk at a grocery store was robbed at gunpoint by a man of food coupons, valued at $300, and $700 at 6:50 p.m. Jan. 20.
Wilson Avenue and Jackson Street--A man tried to snatch a woman’s purse at 8 p.m. on Jan. 20, but the strap broke and the victim fled.
North Kenwood Street, 100 block--A man stole an alligator purse, valued at $800, and about $30 from a woman at 8 p.m. Jan. 20.
South Verdugo Road, 100 block--Thieves broke the window of a deli store and stole all the cigarettes, of undetermined value, and about $15 in coins on Jan. 20 or 21.
South Brand Boulevard, 100 block--A woman using a pay phone was robbed of her purse, which contained $30, at 4:48 p.m. Jan. 21.
Windsor Road, 400 block--During an auto burglary investigation at 11:40 p.m. Jan. 21, police arrested a man who had become verbally abusive and violent, by spraying him with pepper spray, a new method being tested by the department. Two juveniles were arrested without incident in connection with the crime.
South Kenilworth Street, 400 block--A man who admitted gang affiliation was hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his hand and chest after a drive-by shooting at 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 22.
West Los Feliz Road, 300 block--A man walking in a market parking lot was robbed of $78 by a man who reached out to shake the victim’s hand and then struck him in the face and snatched his wallet at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 22.
South Central Avenue, 100 block--Police arrested a man they witnessed running out of a department store with an armful of leather jackets, valued at $1,437, at 9:05 p.m. Jan. 22.
West Glenoaks Boulevard, 600 block--Two doughnut shop employees were robbed at gunpoint of $54 from the cash register and $10 from each of the victims’ wallets at 10 p.m. Jan. 22 by a man who had reportedly robbed the shop before.
San Fernando Road and Magnolia Avenue--A vehicle with three male occupants was fired upon by a passing motorist at 2:20 a.m. Jan 23.
West Los Feliz Road, 400 block--A TV and VCR valued at $800 were stolen from an apartment between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
La Crescenta
Foothill Boulevard, 2700 block--On Jan. 18, the owners of a record store returned from out of town and reported that about 600 compact discs, valued at $5,700, had been stolen.
Atwater Village
San Fernando Road, 2800 block--Thieves pried open a factory door and stole typewriters and business machines, valued at $910, on Jan. 17 or 18.
Fletcher Drive, 3400 block--Thieves entered an apartment through an unlocked window and stole money and jewelry, valued at $2,225, between 1 and 2 p.m. Jan. 19.
Riverside Drive, 2700 block--Burglars entered an unlocked apartment and stole cameras and a stereo, valued at $9,900, between 2:40 and 4:50 p.m. Jan. 18.
Montrose
Waltonia Avenue, 1900 block--Burglars broke a window and a door of a church between 9:45 and 10:45 p.m. Jan. 17 and stole a backpack, valued at $20, and $10.
La Canada/Flintridge
Palm Drive, 5000 block--Vandals reportedly caused $33,000 in graffiti damage to six buildings and other surfaces at a school on Jan. 15 or 16.
Georgian Road, 700 block--Two chain saws, valued at $1,200, were stolen from a back yard Jan. 17 or 18.
Foothill Boulevard, 900 block--Thieves broke a glass door of a sporting goods store at 2:58 a.m. on Jan. 20, but police responded to a silent alarm and nothing appeared to be stolen.
Foothill Boulevard, 600 block--A man was seen stealing 30 wooden pallets, valued at $450, from a supermarket parking lot at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21.
Eagle Rock
Yosemite Drive, 2100 block--Four young men reportedly stole a cellular phone and video equipment, valued at $1,019, between 9:30 a.m. and noon Jan. 19, then fled on bicycles.
Merton Avenue, 2300 block--Jewelry and camera equipment valued at $1,880 were stolen from an apartment between 6:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. Jan. 20.
Figueroa Street and Yosemite Drive--A woman walking down the street at 6 p.m. Jan. 21 was forced into a vacant lot by two men and raped.
Corliss Street, 4500 block--Burglars entered a house through an unlocked window and stole jewelry and a TV, valued at $3,760, at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22.
Figueroa Street and Yosemite Drive--A man got out of a car at 8 a.m. Jan. 23, brandished a handgun and robbed a woman of money and jewelry, valued at $1,350.
Echo Park
Centennial Street, 900 block--Five men fired four to eight rounds from a handgun into an apartment at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 18.
Sunset Boulevard, 1600 block--Six men cut a man with a knife, kicked him and robbed him of money and jewelry, valued at $115, at 11:05 p.m. Jan. 19.
McDuff Street, 1400 block--Five men forced their way into a house, tied up the victims, ransacked a bedroom and fled without taking any property at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21.
Echo Park Avenue, 1600 block--A man with a knife robbed a gas station attendant of money and cigarettes, valued at $350, at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 23.
Highland Park
North Avenue 56, 100 block--Two men entered a house at gunpoint, tied up the victim and stole $25,000 at 1:05 p.m. Jan. 18.
Avenue 58 and Figueroa Street--A woman walking on a sidewalk at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 18 was robbed of her purse and money, valued at $95, by a man.
Eagle Rock Boulevard, 4000 block--A chain store was burglarized at 5:40 a.m. Jan. 18, and a TV and video equipment, valued at $2,747, were stolen.
Rangeview Avenue, 5000 block--Burglars pried open the side door of a house between 3 and 11:30 p.m. Jan. 18 and stole recorded music and a stereo, valued at $2,490.
Onarga Avenue, 700 block--A man posing as a delivery person entered a house, blindfolded its occupants at gunpoint, ransacked it and stole money and a TV, valued at $5,900, at 9 p.m. Jan. 18.
Avenue 56 and York Boulevard--A man with a knife robbed a man of his jewelry, valued at $550, at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 19 after the victim said he had no money.
North Avenue 56, 100 block--Thieves entered a business through an unlocked rear door, pried open a cabinet with a crowbar and stole a TV and computer equipment, valued at $3,000, between 7:30 and 9 a.m. Jan. 19.
North Avenue 56, 100 block--Computer equipment valued at $3,000 was stolen from an office after thieves pried the door lock off with a crowbar between 7:30 and 9 a.m. Jan. 19.
Mayo Street, 900 block--Money and a TV valued at $2,484 were stolen from a house between 1:30 and 6 p.m. Jan. 19.
North Avenue 52, 300 block--A woman who left her apartment unlocked reported that her purse and money, valued at $1,006, had been stolen at 11:37 p.m. Jan. 20.
Chestnut Avenue, 800 block--A man snatched a woman’s purse, valued at $154, and fled in a vehicle at 2:10 p.m. Jan. 21.
Monte Vista Street, 6000 block--A man robbed a market clerk at gunpoint of $150 at 8:05 p.m. Jan. 21.
York Boulevard and Avenue 50--Three men assaulted a man on the sidewalk at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 22, stabbed him with a pen and stole $100.
Avenue 47, 1400 block--Thieves removed the window of an apartment, ransacked it and stole video equipment and a stereo, valued at $1,340, between 6:30 and 10 p.m. Jan. 22.
Glassell Park
Eagle Rock Boulevard, 3800 block--Thieves broke a storage bin padlock and stole jewelry and household goods, valued at $2,000, between Jan. 18 and 22.
Toland Way, 4100 block--Burglars pried bars from the windows of a house and stole jewelry and video equipment, valued at $1,525, between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Jan. 18.
Verdugo Road, 4000 block--Two men with a revolver robbed a person in a business of $800 at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 18.
Eagle Rock Boulevard and Verdugo Road--A man using a pay phone was robbed at gunpoint by three men of money and clothing valued at $230 at 11:25 p.m. Jan. 19.
Cazador Street, 3800 block--Thieves broke into a house under construction and stole household goods and tools, valued at $3,000, on Jan. 19 or 20.
Eagle Rock Boulevard, 3700 block--Two men jumped into a man’s car, robbed the victim of his wallet, valued at $99, and then forced the victim out of the car at gunpoint at 8:35 p.m. Jan. 22. The bandits fled in the vehicle.
Eagle Rock Boulevard and Avenue 37--A man held a gun to a man’s head at 8:15 p.m. Jan. 22 and robbed him of jewelry, valued at $150.
Drew Street, 3400 block--Thieves smashed a bedroom window of a house and stole clothing and tools, valued at $1,000, between 1 and 10 p.m. Jan. 22.
West Avenue 35, 2700 block--Burglars ransacked a house and stole money and jewelry, valued at $7,500, between 7 and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
North Figueroa Street, 5100 block--Business machines and telephone equipment valued at $1,200 were stolen from an auto sales lot on Jan. 22 or 23.
Aldama Street, 5000 block--Thieves cut the lock on a garage and stole tools, valued at $2,895, between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Jan. 23.
Irvington Place, 5600 block--Two men robbed a woman of her purse, valued at $55, at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
Los Feliz
Amesbury Road, 3600 block--On Jan. 17 at 12:15 a.m., a man was accosted in his driveway by a male teen-ager with a sawed-off shotgun and another with a screwdriver. The man had no money and the assailants fled.
Franklin Avenue, 4900 block--Three people are suspected of breaking into a house between Jan. 16 and 18 and stealing firearms and household goods valued at $2,500.
North Alexandria Avenue, 1900 block--Thieves removed a padlock from a garage and stole cameras and equipment valued at $2,000 on Jan. 18 or 19.
Dracena Drive, 2000 block--Burglars forced their way into an apartment and stole jewelry, valued at $5,000, between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19.
Hillhurst Avenue, 1900 block--A bank teller was robbed by a man with a demand note of $1,800 at 1 p.m. Jan. 20.
Kenmore Avenue, 1100 block--Thieves entered an apartment while the victims slept at 2:40 a.m. Jan. 21 and stole money and a wallet, valued at $3,615.
Aloha Street, 3800 block--Two men tried to rob a woman of her vehicle in a driveway at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 21, but the victim backed the car up and the thieves grabbed her purse, valued at $90, and fled, firing two shots from a handgun.
Lowry Road, 3200 block--A man parking his car was robbed at gunpoint of his wallet and jewelry, valued at $512, at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 22.
Vermont and Lexington avenues--Two men acting as though they had a gun grabbed $157 from a man’s jacket at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 22 and fled.
Franklin Avenue and Berendo Street--Two bandits robbed a man of $75 and fled at 10:55 p.m. Jan. 22.
Hillhurst Avenue, 2100 block--Burglars smashed out the door of a business and stole video equipment and a stereo, valued at $1,140, on Jan. 22 or 23.
Silver Lake
Street, 2200 block--A burglar might have used a pass key to enter a garage and then a townhouse Jan. 17 or 18, where household goods, valued at $2,425, were stolen.
Berkeley Avenue, 2400 block--A TV, CD player, microwave and video equipment, valued at $1,050, were stolen from a house between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 19.
Glenhurst Avenue, 3200 block--Burglars entered a house through a window and stole money and video equipment, valued at $1,650, between 12:20 and 1 p.m. Jan. 20.
Hyperion Avenue and Tracy Street--A man was robbed of his vehicle at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 by two men who acted as though they had a gun.
Lucile Avenue and Effie Street--Two men stole a purse and wallet, valued at $87, from a woman walking down the street at 2:45 p.m. Jan. 22.
Hyperion Avenue, 2900 block--Burglars pried open the air vent of a commercial building Jan. 22 or 23, broke into a change machine and stole $1,060.
Fletcher Drive and Ripple Street--Eight men in a vehicle shot a man in the back at 12:05 a.m. Jan. 23, then left the vehicle and assaulted the victim with kicks and bottles.
Glendale and Silver Lake boulevards--A gunman robbed a man on the street of $100 at 9:45 p.m. Jan. 23.
