Fischer Will Head Aerojet Division

Carl B. Fischer has been named president of Azusa-based Aerojet Electronic Systems Division effective March 1.
He succeeds Robert G. Richards, who is retiring.
Fischer has been vice president and general manager of the tactical programs division since 1982.
He joined the company in 1966 as supervisor of the thermophysics and fluid systems design group, was promoted to manager of mechanical/optical/thermal engineering in 1974, to chief engineer of the design engineering department in 1978 and to director of engineering for the new target activated munitions systems, renamed the tactical programs division, in 1979.
Fischer, a Claremont resident, graduated from Cal State Northridge and earned his MBA at USC.
Aerojet Electronic Systems Division has 1,900 employees in Azusa; Socorro, N.M.; Colorado Springs, Colo., and Woomera, Australia. It is a division of Aerojet, headquartered in Sacramento, an aerospace and defense industry manufacturer.
