MB Communications Inc., the parent of Micom Communications Corp. in Simi Valley, said its fiscal third-quarter profit rose 43% from a year earlier on an 8% gain in revenue.

In the three months ended Dec. 31, MB’s net income climbed to $3.31 million from $2.32 million a year earlier, while its revenue rose to $48 million from $44.6 million.

The figures are so-called pro forma results that take into account the company’s recent initial public stock offering and a related financial restructuring. Besides Micom, which makes data-communications devices, Pittsburgh-based MB owns Black Box Corp., a leading catalogue marketer of computer gear.
