Terminal Data Reports Loss for 1st Quarter

Terminal Data Corp., a Moorpark maker of scanners and document-imaging equipment, said it lost $424,000 in its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a year-earlier loss of $271,000.

The latest loss came on a 4% drop in TDC’s revenue, to $4.64 million from $4.8 million.

The company said the declines reflected lower sales in its check processing subsystems business. The division’s sales fell 43%, to $1.35 million, because several products were discontinued. Sales of the company’s scanners, however, rose 30% from a year earlier, to $1.5 million.
