SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Water-Saving Toilets to Be Given Away
- Share via
As a water-saving promotion, free “ultra low-flush” toilets will once again be offered free to residents by the Capistrano Valley Water District today and Saturday.
Residents willing to exchange an old, water-wasting toilet are eligible, said Jim Widner, the district’s administrative services manager. The old toilets--most dating from before 1984--use five to seven gallons per flush as opposed to the 1.6 gallons in the low-flush models, Widner said.
The district giveaway, begun earlier this week, has been more popular than city officials had guessed, Widner said. More than 250 toilets have been given away so far and it has generated more than 400 calls, he said.
The toilets will be offered between 8 a.m. and noon both days. For more information, call (714) 493-1515.
