Drazen Petrovic is not campaigning off the court to become the first European selected to play in the NBA All-Star game.

Petrovic--the NBA’s best three-point shooter--is doing it on the court, as he did Thursday night in the New Jersey Nets’ 113-103 overtime victory over the Seattle SuperSonics at East Rutherford, N.J.

Petrovic made four of five three-pointers, scored 35 points and scored the go-ahead basket as the Nets handed the SuperSonics their third consecutive loss.

“I believe I have the talent to be an All-Star,” said Petrovic, whose 23-point average and .510 shooting percentage lead the Nets. “But it’s not that important.”

Derrick Coleman, limited to three points in the first 41 minutes, finished with 20 points and 22 rebounds for the Nets. Ricky Pierce scored 22 of his 26 in the second half to lead Seattle.

San Antonio 133, Indiana 115--Sean Elliott scored 22 points and David Robinson had 20 as the host Spurs won for 13th time in their last 14 games.

The Spurs are 18-3 since John Lucas took over as coach from Jerry Tarkanian, and have won 10 consecutive games at home. The Spurs had lost 11 of their previous 13 games against the Pacers, including five of six in San Antonio.

Vern Fleming led the Pacers with 24 points.

New York 105, Golden State 101--John Starks, Charles Smith and Anthony Mason made up for the absence of Patrick Ewing as the Knicks won at New York.

Ewing, sidelined because of a hyper-extended right knee, missed only his fourth game in six seasons. But Starks finished with 30 points and Smith, taking over at center for Ewing, had 20. Mason scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter.
