LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Woman Files $22-Million Claim for Alleged 911 Delay

A woman whose estranged husband is accused of shooting her and killing her father filed a $22-million damage claim Friday against the county, the Sheriff’s Department and two 911 dispatchers.

Cenia Garcia Dodson alleged that she had to call 911 operators and sheriff’s deputies three times before help arrived at her family’s Pico Rivera apartment in the September incident.

Dodson said she told the 911 operators and deputies she had a restraining order against Anthony Dodson. The order barred him from her apartment unless he was picking up or dropping off their children. Dodson said she got the order in September because Dodson was abusive and had threatened to kill her for trying to leave the marriage.

Her attorney, Miguel Garcia, said Anthony Dodson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony. His trial is set for March 23.
