Brian Williams Returns to Team
Brian Williams, the Orlando Magic center-forward who had not played since Nov. 12 because of clinical depression, was activated Sunday.
Before being placed on the injured list Nov. 25, Williams, a second-year NBA player who was a first-round draft choice after playing in high school at Santa Monica St. Monica and collegiately at Maryland and Arizona, played in four games, averaging 1.3 points and 2.5 rebounds.
He replaced Greg Kite late in the second quarter of a 102-100 triple-overtime victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday, playing 54 seconds and failing to score after going onto the court before being whistled in by an official.
“I guess I was a little too excited,” he told the Orlando Sentinel. “I thought it was like football, where you race onto the field. I guess I was a little anxious.”
