SAVING HISTORY: The San Juan Capistrano Mission has come up with a new way to help pay for its major preservation project. For a contribution of $325 or more, your family name will be placed in the walkway tiles near the entrance fountain. “The names will forever be a part of the Mission history,” says mission spokeswoman Kathleen McInerney. . . . The mission has an added need for money: the recent pounding storms caused several of its adobe walls to crumble.
