Cultural Support: Los Angeles arts leaders, meeting at the Biltmore on Tuesday, hailed the findings of a nationwide survey of 1,000 people that found 81% of those polled agree “the Arts and Humanities contribute to the well-being of society.” Los Angeles cultural affairs manager Al Nodal and California Arts Council chairman Edward C. Cazier Jr., among others, viewed the results as an argument for continued government and private-sector support of the arts. The survey by the Washington-based National Cultural Alliance was paid for by a $49,000 grant from the Getty Foundation.
