Tennessee’s Lang Wiseman scored 22 points during the first half and the Volunteers took advantage of No. 13 Arkansas’ cold shooting to beat the Razorbacks, 101-91, in a Southeastern Conference game at Fayetteville, Ark., on Tuesday night.

The Volunteers (11-12, 3-8) made nine consecutive free throws during the final minutes. The Razorbacks (16-6, 7-5) made only 17 of 45 shots during the second half, and made less than 40% for the game.

Wiseman, who finished with 24 points, made six of seven three-point attempts during the first half.

“That was the most disappointed I’ve been in our execution in eight years,” Arkansas Coach Nolan Richardson said. “We put up 30 three-point shots. We’re not a three-point team. We went out and just shot threes and didn’t execute.”

Corliss Williamson led the Razorbacks with a career-high 26 points.

Boston College 79, No. 17 Pittsburgh 56--The Golden Eagles went on a 17-2 run over the final 6 1/2 minutes of the first half, riding Bill Curley’s scoring and rebounding to an upset Big East victory at Pittsburgh.

Boston College Coach Jim O’Brien, Pittsburgh Coach Paul Evans and players from both teams engaged in some shoving and shouting after the game, prompting several Boston College players to briefly leave the locker room and return to the floor.

The incident started when O’Brien and Evans exchanged words, but quickly was broken up by security and bystanders, including Pitt athletic director Oval Jaynes.

Curley had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Boston College (14-7, 8-5). Pittsburgh fell to 15-6 and 7-6.

No. 20 Iowa 68, Ohio State 54--Val Barnes broke out of a shooting slump with 20 points, including five three-pointers, pacing the Hawkeyes in a Big Ten game at Iowa City, Iowa.

Western Kentucky 78, No. 22 Louisville 77--Darrin Horn made a three-point basket from the corner with nine seconds to play, lifting the Hilltoppers to a nonconference victory at Louisville, Ky.

Western Kentucky (17-4), which had lost 14 consecutive games to the Cardinals (14-7) dating to 1962, got a big break when Louisville’s Derwin Webb missed a dunk with 39 seconds to play.
