On Sunday, Loyola Marymount University sponsors the 12th annual Wine Classic, giving experts and beginners a chance to sample vintages from 48 of California’s best wineries.
The 2 to 5 p.m. event at Gersten Pavilion will feature offerings from wineries including Babcock, Grgich Hills, DeLoach, Cafaro, Fisher, Groth, Meridian, St. Clement, ZD Wines and Viader.
“This year’s lineup of wineries and the high quality of recent vintage California wines ensure that this will be an extraordinary tasting,” said Art Carroll, a Loyola Marymount alumnus who founded the event.
Admission is $50 per person, but $38 is tax-deductible. Proceeds will be used for scholarships and other programs benefiting students at Loyola Marymount. The admission price includes a commemorative wine glass and a buffet of cheeses, pates, fruits and breads prepared by Bristol Farms.
