GENE’S GOT IT RIGHT: Maybe in the TV Westerns you saw there were few black cowboys, the Indians were depicted as savages and the Mexicans as bandits. But the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in Los Angeles has hundreds of books that more accurately depict their roles in the American West. It’s sending a display of them, plus other western artifacts, to Santa Ana’s Rancho Santiago College as part of its Black History Month celebration. It’s scheduled to open Monday at the college library.
