Rainbow Technologies Inc.: The Irvine software protection company posted a profit of $5.1 million, or 95 cents a share, for 1992, a gain of 50% over the previous year’s earnings of $3.4 million, or 80 cents a share. Sales increased 49%, to $28.2 million from $18.9 million. For the fourth quarter, profit was up 43%, to $1.4 million, or 25 cents a share, from $980,000, or 19 cents a share. Three-month sales increased 57%, to $8 million from $5.1 million.
