COLLEGE ROUNDUP : West Leads SCC Past Point Loma Nazarene
Mike West scored 22 points to lead Southern California College to a 91-77 victory over Point Loma Nazarene College in a Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night.
John Naro added 17 points and Scott Campbell had 15 for SCC (18-11, 7-4 in conference), which led by 10 at halftime.
Richard Hart led Point Loma Nazarene College (9-20, 1-10) with 17 points.
West led SCC with 12 rebounds and guard Danin Bryant had 10 assists.
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Cal State Los Angeles 96, Pacific Christian 82--Charles Ross had 25 points and six rebounds for visiting Pacific Christian, which trailed by just one at halftime.
Ruxton Schmietenknop and Rusty Lance each added 14 points for the Royals (22-12).
Tony McGee scored 19 points to lead six scorers in double figures for Cal State Los Angeles (14-10). Mark Greene added 15 points and Ijumas Armstrong scored 14 for the Golden Eagles.
