Wahlco Settles Patent Dispute With Wilhelm Environmental
Wahlco Inc., a maker of flue gas systems for coal-fired power plants, has settled a patent dispute with Wilhelm Environmental Technologies Inc. of Indianapolis, the companies announced Wednesday. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
The two companies filed three lawsuits against each other from 1990 to 1992 contesting patents on a system that allows low-sulfur coal-burning electrical generating plants to emit fewer pollutants. The patent expires this year.
Wahlco, based in Santa Ana, has manufactured the pollution reduction system since it was founded in 1972.
