Two Oxnard men arrested after a Bank of America branch was robbed in Ventura on Jan. 22 have been indicted on federal charges for separate heists, the FBI said Wednesday.

A Los Angeles grand jury earlier this month returned an indictment against Carlos Bernard Chacon, 29, who was described by witnesses in the Ventura robbery, said Charlie Parsons, special agent in charge in the FBI’s Los Angeles office.

Arnold Gilbert Valdivia, 31, was indicted Tuesday for a separate robbery at a Bank of America branch in Westlake Village on Jan. 12. He owned the car allegedly used by Chacon in the Ventura robbery, Parsons said.

Both men were arrested on Jan. 22 after the Ventura robbery, Parsons said. Further investigation connected Valdivia to the Westlake heist, he said. If convicted, both men could face up to 20 years in prison and fines of $5,000.
