Former heavyweight champion George Foreman will meet Tommy Morrison on June 5 in Las Vegas, promoters said Thursday.

The fight, which was to have taken place April 16, will be televised on a pay-per-view basis.

Promoter Bob Arum said the Las Vegas site had yet to be determined.

Foreman and Morrison fought on a Jan. 16 card in Reno, at which time Arum said they would meet on April 16. But Foreman balked at the date and it was rescheduled.

On that card, Foreman stopped Pierre Coetzer in the eighth round, and Morrison got off the canvas to stop Carl Williams, also in the eighth round.

Foreman, 44, is the No. 1-ranked heavyweight by the International Boxing Federation and is 72-3 overall with 67 knockouts. Foreman is 27-1 since beginning his comeback in 1987 after a decade out of the ring.

Morrison, 24, from Kansas City, is 35-1 with 31 knockouts. He is ranked fifth by the IBF and No. 6 by the World Boxing Assn. and World Boxing Council.
