What a major faux pas The Times committed in Highlights Feb. 18. Sure, The Times warned readers not to read the article on “The Crying Game” (“Don’t Read Any Further If You Haven’t Seen This Film”) since it revealed the plot secret, but then The Times went ahead and revealed it anyway.

Did The Times really think that readers would not make the connection between a photo of actor Jaye Davison as a female above this Highlight: “Jaye Davison’s nomination as best supporting actor has those connected with ‘The Crying Game’ worried that the film’s secret is out”?

How does it feel to give away one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets and to blow the fun out of one of Oscar’s most interesting moments? RICK ROSE
