Countywide : Freeway Ramp, Lane Closures Scheduled
Several lane and ramp closures could make travel on the Santa Ana Freeway less than a free-flow experience Thursday and Friday.
The southbound Santa Ana Freeway connector to the southbound Costa Mesa Freeway will be closed from midnight Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. Also, the McFadden Avenue on-ramp at the Costa Mesa Freeway is scheduled to close from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.
Both closures are for re-striping, Caltrans said Tuesday.
Also on Thursday, Caltrans will close the Lincoln Avenue bridge over the Santa Ana Freeway in Santa Ana for about two years.
The bridge will be reconstructed.
A similar situation will occur by month’s end at 20th Street in Santa Ana, where a new pedestrian bridge will replace the existing structure. Caltrans officials said they have agreed to pay the Santa Ana Unified School District $172,000 for about two years’ worth of busing 120 Hoover Elementary School students who will be inconvenienced.
