Arcadia : Students Caught Shoplifting

Share

Two Dana Junior High School band and drill team members were caught shoplifting after a Disneyland performance, and the school principal has barred the groups from the theme park for a year. “I am quite angry that the school’s name is associated with this incident involving a few individuals,” Principal Joe Fox said. Nine Dana girls were detained by Disney security Feb. 7, after two of them were observed shoplifting from the park’s stores, Fox said. He said two students stole about $200 worth of merchandise and asked seven others to hold it. He said the two who shoplifted were suspended and have since returned to school. One of the nine girls was cleared during questioning by Disneyland officials, but the other eight were removed from the team and other school activities. The incident occurred after a performance by the Dana Mariners and drill team in Disneyland. Letters of apology have been sent to the theme park, Fox said.
