Wild Horses

I would like to inform T.R. Mader (letter, Feb. 20), who commented that Michael Balke’s attack on the destruction of wild horses (Commentary, Feb. 8) was unwarranted, that I and a great number of others have put our money where our mouths are. We do own vast areas of land and we do pay for their management. Indeed, we pay handsomely out of our own pockets. Who are we? We are taxpayers and we don’t like the way our natural resources are being squandered by our proxy.
