What: Eighth annual Los Angeles Marathon.
Who: About 20,000 runners from 93 countries.
Where: Starting line on Exposition Boulevard in front of the Coliseum, finish 26.2 miles later at Menlo and north Coliseum Drive, in Exposition Park.
When: Wheelchair race starts at 8:35 a.m., race walkers at 8:45, runners at 9:10.
Why: For the elite runners--prize money and a car. For the rest--because it’s there.
