U.S. Soccer Team Gets Early Lead but Loses to Japan

Japan came back from a slow start to beat the United States, 3-1, Sunday in the final match of the three-nation Kirin Cup.

The United States took a 1-0 lead on midfielder Hugo Perez’s goal midway through the first half before 48,000 in National Stadium, but Japan came back to tie the game, 1-1, before halftime.

Hungary won the Kirin Cup by defeating Japan 1-0 on March 7 and tying the United States, 0-0, on Wednesday.
