Monday Is Deadline for Voter Registration

Monday is the deadline for registering to vote in the April 20 primary election in Los Angeles. If you have moved or changed your name or party affiliation, you must register again. To be eligible to vote, you must be at least 18 by Election Day and a U.S. citizen residing in the city of Los Angeles 29 days before the election. Felons and paroled prisoners are not eligible. You can register at any post office, library, fire station or motor vehicle department office, or at the election division of the city clerk’s office at City Hall, 200 N. Spring St., Room 2300.

Monday is also the first day absentee ballots will be available from the election division, which provides information weekdays at (213) 485-3581.

To request a ballot in Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean or Chinese, call the city election division beginning Monday at (800) 994-VOTE.
