DENOMINATION PRESIDENT: The Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City, 12355 Moorpark St., will host the Rev. William F. Schulz, president of the denomination, as the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. service Sunday.

SPEAKER: Joel C. Green, author and associate professor of New Testament Studies at the American Baptist Seminary of the West, will be the pulpit guest at the 10:17 a.m. service Sunday at Granada Hills Baptist Church, 10949 Zelzah Ave.

CHOIR PERFORMANCE: The Calvary Choir, under the direction of Kerry Kirkley, will present “I Will Rejoice” at 7 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Bible Church, 1101 South Main St., Burbank.

RAMADAN CONCLUDES: The conclusion of Ramadan, the Muslim fasting month, will be celebrated on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on when the new moon is sighted. Local Muslims will gather at 7 a.m. on the lawn in front of the Oviatt Library at Cal State Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St. Information about the event can be obtained by calling the Islamic Center of Northridge at (818) 772-0906.

SHABBAT: A Shabbat service for young professionals ages 21 to 38 will be offered at 6 p.m. Friday at Valley Beth Shalom, 15739 Ventura Blvd., Encino. A catered dinner, including a program titled “Daring to Discover Dialogue,” will be presented. Tickets are $16.50 each and must be purchased by 10 a.m. Tuesday.

EASTER WORKSHOP: The Woodland Hills United Methodist Church, 5650 Shoup Ave., will offer a crafts workshop on Lent and Easter for Sunday school-aged children from 1 to 3 p.m. March 27. A $2 donation per child is asked to offset craft supply costs.

PASSOVER BASKETS: Valley Beth Shalom is accepting money and kosher Passover food items for Passover baskets for needy families. Donations can be dropped off at the synagogue located at 15739 Ventura Blvd., Encino, until March 29, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Last year, the congregation delivered 180 baskets to needy families.
