Two people were found dead Wednesday night in the ruins of a house that burned in Tujunga, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The names of a 55-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman found dead at a home in the 7000 block of Elmo Street were not made public pending notification of relatives, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.

The fire broke out shortly before 7 p.m. and was extinguished about 20 minutes later by 25 firefighters, said department spokesman Bob Collis.

“When they arrived, there was fire blowing through the roof,” Collis said. “After we put it out, firefighters found two bodies” in a rear bedroom.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined. The fire caused a total of $100,000 in damage, including $75,000 to the structure and $25,000 to the contents, Collis said.
