COMPTON : Man Sought for Questioning in Police Slaying Surrenders

Share

A fifth man wanted for questioning about the murder of two Compton police officers turned himself in to sheriff’s deputies before dawn Friday and was booked for an unrelated murder.

Orlando Raymond Ford, 19, showed up at the Lynwood sheriff’s station one week after Compton police announced that he was wanted for murder and as a possible accomplice in the execution-style murder of Officers Kevin Michael Burrell, 29, and James Wayne MacDonald, 22, on Feb. 22.

Ford was arrested in connection with the Feb. 2 killing of a 16-year-old rival gang member--a shooting that touched off a gang war in Compton, said Police Sgt. Reggie Wright. Ford is being held without bail awaiting an April 9 arraignment.
