An accident that killed one man and injured five people at O’Hare International Airport was almost an exact replay of an accident nearly one year ago.

A minivan jumped a curb and ran through a group of pedestrians Sunday. “There was a lot of commotion, a lot of screaming,” said Officer Vito Montana. George Brinkman, 68, of Elgin was charged with negligent driving and striking pedestrians on a sidewalk.

A 9-year-old girl was killed and 76 people were injured when a car jumped the curb at the airport April 30, 1992.
