Cap Cities, Paramount Confirm Bid: Capital Cities/ABC Inc. and Paramount Communications Inc. confirmed previous reports that they plan to join a group bidding for two Mexican state-owned television networks that will be offered for sale under the government’s privatization program. A spokesman for the U.S. companies said they will team up with Guadalajara industrialist Raymundo Gomez Flores for the bid. He owns truck manufacturer Grupo Dina, which went public Wednesday, and Banco Cremi. Three other groups submitted bids for a media package, which includes national networks 7 and 13 as well as El Nacional newspaper, a chain of movie theaters and a production studio. Thursday was the deadline for bidding groups to register with the government. The government will decide later which groups will be allowed to make bids.
