Cypress’ Clark, Tippen Have Record Outings

Kevin Clark set a Cypress College single-game record with five doubles and Greg Tippen tied another with three home runs as the Chargers beat Riverside, 15-7, in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Saturday at Riverside.

Clark doubled in his first at-bat, grounded out, then had doubles in his final four at-bats.

Tippen hit a three-run homer in the first and a one-run shot in the third. He had an RBI single in fourth, then hit a three-run homer in the fifth. Tippen, a sophomore from Canyon High School, walked in his final at-bat in the seventh for Cypress (18-11, 8-7). Riverside is 19-9, 7-6.
