Monterey Park : 2 Forums on Budget Cuts
Two public forums are scheduled for Monterey Park residents to discuss the city’s proposed $20-million budget, which includes a possible 10% cut from all agencies except the police and fire departments.
City officials say the cutbacks are necessary to make up for an anticipated $700,000 deficit caused by a shortfall in state funding.
The meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. April 20 in the Elder Park Community Room, 1950 Wilcox Ave., and at 7 p.m. April 21 in the Monterey Highlands Elementary School cafeteria, 400 Casuda Canyon Drive. Information: (818) 307-1355.
