End All Campaign Contributions : Mayor’s race: They are the root of all political evil and limit our choice of candidates.

The worst faults in our political system are campaign contributions.

Whether intended as handouts or as bribery, they are the greatest insult to human decency and honor. They are also the reason why so many of our politicians are so corrupt.

They have converted, transformed and reduced our free-enterprise system into political pollution and an institution for prostitution. When political corruption trickles down to the civil-service employees and the general public, the result is a great explosion of graft, theft, dishonesty, immorality, plundering and rip-off of our wealth and natural resources by scoundrels inside and outside government.

That was exactly what happened during the L.A. riots in April, 1992, when city government and leaders put the blame on the chief of police. We fired him and hired the greatest chief of police in the country. Now they blame (our problems) on the number and quality of police. No matter what we do, they will find some excuse and some innocent entity to blame it on.

Unless the public realizes that we must replace the politicians with high-caliber honest, competent and moral leaders, we will be running around in circles. Therefore, the first step must be to abolish campaign contributions and introduce tough penalties for both donors and recipients.
