* * 1/2 Dolly Parton, “Slow Dancing With the Moon,” Columbia. Among some two dozen big-name guests here, none, apparently, let Parton know it’s OK again for a country singer to sound country. She’s still a better writer than 95% of those toiling in Nashville song factories, but her attempts to capture life’s true grit are largely undermined by glossy production a la her “Here You Come Again” period.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
