The Many Faces of a Card Club

Regarding the letter to the editor (April 4) concerning anti-card club comments by Joe Mansolino: (Has he) ever been in a card club? My family and many of our friends have enjoyed their fine cuisine at a very reasonable price.

Many senior organizations have enjoyed their banquet rooms, and with their very large security force, we feel secure there (more than in our own neighborhoods). The card clubs in California have been a home for many “lonely” senior widows and widowers who love to pass the time of day playing cards.

These card clubs also bring jobs and much needed revenue to the area. To these fine citizens who hear all these false rumors about how bad it is to have a card club in our community, visit a card club. See for yourself before judging them.
