Woodruff to CNN: Judy Woodruff, chief Washington correspondent for “The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour” on PBS, is joining CNN as a prime anchor and senior correspondent. Woodruff will co-anchor “Inside Politics,” a daily program, with Bernard Shaw. She will also co-anchor “The World Today,” CNN’s newscast at 3 p.m. here and 6 p.m. on the East Coast, with CNN’s Frank Sesno. In addition to her daily anchoring duties, Woodruff, who will be based in Washington, will co-anchor CNN’s coverage of special events such as political conventions. Woodruff, a 20-year veteran of TV news, has been the chief Washington correspondent for the “MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour” for 10 years.
