VIEWPOINT / LETTERS : Beck Plays It Safe, but Readers Don’t
So Jim Murray thought Chip Beck was gutless for not going all out on the 15th hole at the Masters (April 12). Of course if Beck had played his approach shot aggressively and had it land in the water, guess who would have taken him to task for blowing second place and costing himself $101,400. Or perhaps Murray has been hanging out with so many baseball players that he no longer realizes that $101,400 is still a fair piece of change in most quarters.
