After 12 seasons, 8,074 rushing yards and too much wear and tear on his body, Freeman McNeil has decided to retire.
The New York Jets’ all-time leading rusher, who will be 34 on Thursday, will reportedly make the announcement at a news conference today.
McNeil’s longtime backfield partner, Johnny Hector, also has concluded his 10-year career with the Jets. Hector had been informed that he wouldn’t be offered a contract for the upcoming season.
