Pop Album Chart : Silk Gains With ‘Losing Control’

Share

Silk’s debut album “Lose Control” moved up a notch to No. 7 and could crack the Top Five next week. The vocal group’s single “Freak Me” took over the top spot on the pop singles chart, knocking out Snow’s long-running “Informer.” That may boost Silk’s album sales for the next few weeks. Rapper LL Cool J’s “14 Shots to the Dome” stayed at No. 11, which is admirable considering that many predicted it would have plummeted by now after its lofty--No. 5--chart debut. Obviously, he has more loyal fans than many figured. Bubbling under the Top 10: Lenny Kravitz’ “Are You Gonna Go My Way?,” up 10 notches to No. 12. Fast-riser: Town’s “Fever for da Flavor” (No. 60).

* Isaak went from cult figure to star with his “Wicked Game” single three years ago. The singer’s new album is off to a good start, entering the pop album chart at No. 38, and should move up next week, maybe to the Top 25.
