Two brothers from Colombia were convicted in federal court Wednesday on drug charges following the largest-ever cocaine seizure in Orange County.

Rodolfo Trujillo, 46, and Henry Trujillo, 38, who had been living in New York City, were convicted in U.S. District Court on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Jeffrey W. Johnson.

They were arrested after federal agents seized 2.4 tons of cocaine from a Fullerton warehouse in 1990, “the largest cocaine seizure in the history of Orange County,” Johnson said. Rodolfo Trujillo had authorized the delivery of the shipment, authorities said.

The arrests were the result of a 3 1/2-year investigation by the FBI, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the Santa Ana, Gardena and Buena Park police departments.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 6. The two face maximum penalties of life imprisonment and fines in the millions of dollars, Johnson said.
