George Branham III won his first major Professional Bowlers Assn. title at Fairlawn, Ohio, by beating Parker Bohn III, 227-214, in the finals of the Tournament of Champions. After Branham defeated Bohn for his fourth title, he added a King of the Hill victory when he defeated Del Ballard Jr., 244-226.
