Mexico defeated Canada, 4-0, in a World Cup qualifying match before 120,000 at Mexico City.
Mexico, in its quest for a berth in the 1994 finals, has six points in the overall standings of the North, Central American and Caribbean region, known as CONCACAF, moving ahead of Canada, which has five points.
At Tegucigalpa, Eduardo Beneth scored twice as Honduras (1-2-1) beat El Salvador, 2-0. El Salvador is 1-3-0.
