Irvine baseball players Ryan O’Toole and Scott Seal have signed national letters of intent to play next year at UCLA.

O’Toole, a 6-foot-3 pitcher, is 4-0 this season with a 1.93 earned-run average. He is batting .321.

Seal, a right fielder, is batting .367 with six doubles and four triples. He was a first-team Times All-County selection a year ago.

O’Toole signed Sunday; Seal signed last week.

Today’s pitching matchup between Fullerton and Sunny Hills will be all in the family.

Fullerton’s Angie Fancuberta, a freshman, takes the mound today against her sister, Bernie, a senior at Sunny Hills.

Angie is 9-11 with a 0.81 earned-run average and 107 strikeouts; Bernie is 8-4 for Sunny Hills and recently beat La Habra, the county’s sixth-ranked team.

The game begins at 3:15 p.m. at Sunny Hills.

Three-fourths of Woodbridge’s starting infield recently signed national letters of intent, according to softball Coach Alan Dugard.

Shortstop Debbie Nasitka, a second-team Times All-County selection a year ago, has decided on Boston College. She is batting .339 with 18 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and 11 runs.

Third baseman Deanna Black has opted for Pacific Lutheran in Tacoma, Wash. She is batting .286 and made only one error in 102 chances this season.

First baseman Jessica Montgomery will attend UC Santa Barbara. She is batting .201 and has made only one error in 162 chances.

Woodbridge is 17-5 this season.
