RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — A 28-year-old woman was killed Thursday afternoon when she swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a car on Antonio Parkway.
Robin Romano of Rancho Santa Margarita was southbound near Tijeras Creek at 1:38 p.m. when the accident occurred, CHP officer Bill Wedderburn said.
Romano’s car apparently went off the right edge of the road, then swerved left across all southbound lanes, over the center divider and into northbound lanes. She then crashed into a car going north.
Romano died at the scene. The other driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo.
The accident is still under investigation, Wedderburn said.
