Ducks Set Up Phone Line for Season-Ticket Buyers

Share

The Mighty Ducks, who are allowing fans less than two weeks to make decisions regarding season-ticket applications, have set up a charge-by-phone system to accept deposits in the final days before Monday’s deadline.

Deposits returned by mail must be postmarked by Monday. Fans can charge deposits by phone beginning Saturday by calling 1-800-HOCKEY-4 from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. on the weekend and until 9 p.m. Monday.

Season-ticket brochures were mailed April 20 to fans who had placed their names on the team’s priority list by expressing interest in season seats. Those who fail to respond with a $250 deposit and list of seat preferences by Monday will lose their place on the list.

Ticket requests will be filled in the order fans originally requested information, not in the order they respond to the brochure.

“We anticipate we will see a big rush as we get close to the weekend,” said Bill Holford, director of sales and marketing. “Like any payment, whether it’s to the IRS, the mortgage, any bill, people hold off until the 12th hour or last minute.”

Holford said response has been “very strong,” and that the charge-by-phone system is designed to help fans as well as to aid the team in processing requests.
