INSIDE CHATTER: Will John Frankenheimer, the Los Angeles attorney whose clients include Diana Ross, be the one that Bertelsmann Music Group Chairman/CEO Michael Dornemann finally taps to run RCA Records and the rest of Bertelsmann’s troubled North American music empire? Or more to the point: Will Frankenheimer be the one who finally accepts Dornemann’s challenge? Among those rumored to have already passed on the job: Elektra Records Chairman Bob Krasnow and MTV Chairman Tom Freston, the latter despite a whopping contract reportedly in the five-year/$20-million range. Neither Frankenheimer nor Bertelsmann would comment.
